Jerry O. Loutzenhiser was a preacher of the Gospel of Christ for seventy years. These seventy years were comprised of full-time evangelism work, overseas mission work, and home bible studies. In 1963-1974 Jerry was coordinator and evangelist for the Iowa Campaigns for Christ as well as later continuing these campaigns in Minnesota and surrounding northern states. His work was supported by the College church of Christ in Searcy, Arkansas. In 1965 Jerry desired to evangelize more effectively. He believed that more people could be guided to Jesus if he could present a study that centered on the Love of God for mankind. To go about fulfilling this desire, he and another gospel preacher by the name of Lloyd Deal, wrote, “God Makes a Man” with illustrations by D.R. Light. These lessons for teaching people the Gospel were very effective, and this study would be used to bring thousands to Christ in the United States and all over the world. Later, Jerry wrote a companion study to “God Makes a Man” which is entitled “Jesus the King".
Until the day of Jerry being welcomed into the peace and rest of the LORD, he was taking every opportunity to share the good news of Jesus Christ. One of Jerry’s last requests was that his material be made available and free to all who wanted to learn more about the LORD and His word. He gave stewardship of the water of life correspondence material to the Salina church of Christ. We encourage you to use this collection of Bible lessons to benefit your needs of reaching out to the lost, restoring the erring back to the household of faith, and to also use these lessons to fortify the faith of the weak as well as the strong.
